Is Shakeology safe to drink while pregnant or breast feeding??
“Listen, I know it’s Saturday so I may even post this again because I want to share my opinion so BADLY with you about a review that is circling around on the Internet. Hear me out … So recently I’ve been seeing a shakeology review going around being shared by people and I have NEVER been one to just shut my mouth when I have a very passionate opinion about something. I am not one to bash others so TRUST ME you won’t hear me do this but I do feel it’s important to read the other side as well. The side and thoughts from a HUMAN who isn’t perfect (me). This is my response to anyone who has shared or has read this blog (I could say so much more but I won’t) “I actually agree with her to not trust all doctors when they are talking about nutrition because they go through very little training when it comes to this area. On the other hand I’m blessed to have the best doctors out there for my daughter Lilly. Since finding out Lilly has autism I have researched my little ass off and in that research I found that NUTRITION is such a huge part in healing the body so to say I’m passionate in this area is an extreme understatement! Both of her doctors… 1 being the best autism specialist (who is a MD but is a biomedical doc) reviewed shakeology for her (not like just look at the label for 5 seconds as some regular doc would he had to actually look into this since diet is very key in our journey) and he was impressed & oked it for her. It’s very difficult to get our kids to eat ALL of the stuff you find in shakeology and at the quality that shakeology has. Most kids aren’t eating superfoods, tons of veggies, getting pre and probiotics, etc daily so 99% of kids and adults for that matter would fit in the category she was referring to. Our other Doctor is actually a nutritionist who has TONS of clinics around the US and is one of the best in his field (nutrition, chiropractic, natural healing, etc) oked it for her as well and was also impressed with this. He also oked it for myself pre pregnancy n during pregnancy n for my mom who was very ill with an auto immune disease. These are both CREDIBLE Doctor reviews in my book! Everything else she said …. I get if you can tell me you will eat everything that you get in 1 serving of shakeology daily by all means go for it but even myself who is a “hippie” and eats a very clean organic diet could never get all the nutrients , vitamins, minerals , etc that you get in this shake. It’s all natural as well which especially in a small town a lot of the ingredients in this shake you can not get in our town or even is cities. All the superfoods that are extremely expensive… MOST people aren’t eating on a daily but if ppl are thinking they will eat Açai berry, Acerola cherry, bilberry, Camu-Camu, Goji berry, grape seed extract, green tea, Maca root, pomegranate, Barley grass, blue-green algae, Chia seeds, Chlorella, flax, grape seed extract, Hydrilla, spinach, Spirulina, sprouted quinoa, wheat grass, etc (there are 70+ other extremely healthy ingredients in just 1 serving) daily as a meal then by all means go for it. I also agree that the drink alone shouldn’t be a meal that’s why I have never recommended just shaking it in a shaker cup straight up but instead blend it up and make a SUPERFOOD SUPER healthy smoothie out of it like A TON of nutritionist will tell you is a great way to start your day. When you add things to this powder obviously the calories per serving will go up to make it more of a meal n if not then I suggest using it as a post workout drink or as a snack. Lastly what I really love about shakeology and truly feel like this chick wasn’t considering is that MOST people do not eat 100% healthy organic natural superfood filled meals every day. MOST people are not perfect This is reality!! Most people are on the go and busy and may not have these ingredients available at their finger tips 24/7. Most people do not eat bowls of broccoli daily and bowls of spinach daily and all these other healthy veggies etc that are in every serving so for those who aren’t perfect (maybe like her?!?) this is an EXTREMELY clean alternative. Just my 2 cents. “ Ps I few points why having a superfood shake daily is beneficial : #1. It will help reduce oxidative damage in the body caused by free radicals. Oxidative damage is a major cause for degenerative (aging) conditions such as heart disease, high blood pressure (which can lead to stroke), dementia, and arthritis. #2 it will boost immunity, help fight diseases, can slow down the aging process, detoxify the body, and have alkalizing properties. #3 Promote better intestinal health. Stimulate growth of friendly bacteria for better digestion. #4. Plant derived agents help to adapt the body or protect it from stress. Adaptogenic herbs are unique from other substances in their ability to balance endocrine hormones and the immune system. #5 Help the body break down foods and increase absorption of nutrients. I think I’ll stop here. Hope this helps and for those of you who are PERFECT I suggest skipping this shake but those who are human and not perfect daily then I HIGHLY recommend this shake!!
